Prabowo's Order To Sudaryono, Invite United Market Traders To Increase APPSI

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Market Traders (APPSI) Sudaryono invites all members to unite to raise organizations for the welfare of market traders throughout Indonesia.

This call was conveyed by Sudaryono who is also Deputy Minister of Agriculture at the APPSI National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas) which was held in Jakarta, Thursday (14/8). This Rapimnas was attended by APPSI administrators throughout Indonesia.

In front of regional administrators and traders' representatives, Sudaryono revealed that he had just met President Prabowo Subianto before attending the event. During the meeting, he told the President that the APPSI Rapimnas was taking place.

"He responded well. As a former Chairperson of APPSI, the President assessed that APPSI is a strategic organization. He left warm greetings and hoped that APPSI would continue to exist and get bigger," said Sudaryono, greeted with applause from the participants.

Sudaryono emphasized that he would continue President Prabowo's message by strengthening the solidity of the organization at all levels. He invited administrators and members to work together to build APPSI in all regions.

"As the General Chair, I am ready to raise this organization. But I cannot do it alone. I need the cooperation and support of all of you to raise it," he said.

For Sudaryono, APPSI has a deep personal meaning. He admitted that his career in government began with his work in the organization.

I was no one before. But because of APPSI, I can be in my position today. From this organization, I was trusted by the President to become Deputy Minister of Agriculture," he said.

In the future, Sudaryono targets APPSI's presence in all traditional Indonesian markets. He wants this organization to be at the forefront of fighting for the rights of traders, including facilitating access to various government programs.

"I want APPSI to be here to help market traders' welfare. I want all traders to easily access government programs related to the market," he said.

The invitation received a warm welcome from the Rapimnas participants. When Sudaryono asked if they were ready to raise the APPSI together, the entire audience answered loudly, "Ready, Mr. Ketum!"

Meanwhile, Prabowo Subianto served as the general chairman of APPSI in the period 2008-2013. Prabowo was elected after receiving support from 29 provincial-level DPWs and 199 district-level DPDs.

Prabowo was chosen because he was considered a strong, brave, caring figure, had partiality to market traders and was recommended by the National Conference.

Prabowo's concern for market traders continues. Currently Prabowo is also the Chairman of the APPSI Board of Trustees, an organization that has been established since 2004 on a mission to carry out the aspirations of professional and competitive market traders.
