Will Build JPO At Cikini Station, Pramono: The Fence Has Not Resolved The Problem
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung is considering building a pedestrian crossing bridge (JPO) to Cikini Station, Central Jakarta.
This was in response to the action of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) which raised the fence in front of the entrance to Cikini Station so that no more KRL Commuter Line users jumped over it.
"We consider the proposal to make it easier, including giving the JPO. But in the near future the door will be increased," said Pramono at Ragunan Wildlife Park, Thursday, August 14.
Pramono admitted that the elevation of the fence at Cikini Station was aimed at preventing pedestrians from jumping over the fence again to facilitate access to the station. However, according to him, it did not solve the problem.
"Right now, actually the fence has been raised, but it hasn't resolved the problem because for residents who will take public transportation there, especially for KAI, yes, that's a long way off," said Pramono.
As previously reported, KAI and KCI raised the pedestrian fence at Cikini Station, Jakarta. This news will certainly make it difficult for passengers of the electric train (KRL) who are used to jumping over the fence.
"Previously (the height of the fence) was one meter, after being (tinged) to 1.7 meters," said KAI Daop 1 Jakarta Public Relations Manager, Ixfan Hendriwintoko on Monday, August 11.
Ixfan hopes this step can reduce inappropriate in and out access violations and improve safety and order in the station environment.
"We appeal to all KRL users to always comply with the applicable rules, use the official access that has been provided, and prioritize mutual safety," he said.
Ixfan said that the installation of a guardrail in the pedestrian area of Cikini Station from the start was aimed at maintaining order and safety, as well as preventing motorists and street vendors from hanging out in the area.
"If this area is left open, it will have an impact on disrupting traffic flow and potential safety risks, both for road users and passengers of the electric rail train (KRL)," he said.

Based on data, the volume of KRL users at Cikini Station reaches 25,00030,000 people per day on weekdays (Mondays), and 11,000 15,000 people per day on weekends (Saturdays).
Ixfan said the high mobility makes the arrangement of passenger access very important to prevent potential incidents and ensure the smooth running of services.
Ixfan reminded that the action of jumping over the fence not only violates the rules, but also has the potential to endanger the safety of the passengers themselves and disrupt the smooth operation in the station area.
