Cipinang Main Market Traders Turnover Drops, DPRD Asks People To No Longer Worry About Oplosan Rice

JAKARTA - Member of Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, M. Taufik Zoelkifli, asked the public not to hesitate to buy rice distributed by the DKI Provincial Government through PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya at the Cipinang Rice Main Market.

This is in response to the findings of the turnover of Cipinang Rice Main Market traders which is currently decreasing sharply due to the case of mixed rice that dragged the Food Station.

"Actually, people don't need to be afraid, yes, if you want to buy rice in Cipinang or anywhere else," said Taufik when contacted by VOI, Wednesday, August 13.

In a working meeting of Commission B some time ago, Taufik revealed that the DKI Provincial Government had withdrawn premium quality rice which was proven to have been mixed from the market.

"People don't hesitate, just buy it there, because yesterday it was secured. The rice has indeed been updated and you want to be given a sticker that this rice is in accordance with its standards," said Taufik.

However, Taufik revealed that the rice stock stored in PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya's warehouse is running low.

The depletion of rice reserves belonging to the DKI Provincial Government has resulted in the sealing of the grain processing machine into rice by the authorities. This sealing is related to the case of mixed rice that dragged the Food Station.

"If this is more than a week ( Sealed), it seems that there will indeed be problems in the supply of rice in Jakarta," said Taufik.

Based on the DKI Provincial Government's report to the DPRD, the Food Station rice stock is estimated to be only available for the next week. Meanwhile, the DKI Provincial Government has encountered problems in processing rice due to engine sealing.

"They also talked yesterday to Commission B that they were going to remove new rice. However, then it was hampered that the engine could not be used because it was still sealed," said Taufik.

Therefore, Taufik encouraged the DKI Provincial Government to immediately coordinate with the Ministry of Agriculture to propose re-operation of sealed mesings.

"Yes, hopefully it can be reopened, the factory, the engine," he added.
