Regarding The Issue Of Jiplak At Animasi Merah Putih: One For All, Deputy Chair Of The LSF: That's Beyond Our Authority

Responding to the growing issue in the community that the animated film Merah Putih: One for All is suspected of plagiarizing or using materials from other works, the Film Censorship Institute (LSF) provides clear limits.

Deputy Chairman of the LSF, Noorca Marendra Massardi, emphasized that the issue of copyright and material originality is beyond the authority of the LSF.

According to Noorca, the task of the LSF is not to verify the validity of copyright from every element in a film, such as music or visual character.

"Yes, regarding all the material in the film, whoever made it is beyond our authority," said Noorca Marendra Massardi in the South Jakarta area, Wednesday, August 13.

He explained that as long as the filmmaker can account for the release rights and the content does not violate the six main censorship criteria, then the LSF does not have the capacity to assess further.

"That he may, whoever he is, all filmmakers use music or foreign scores, from anywhere using, but if he gets his copyright, gets his release rights, and conveys to us, not within our capacity to judge whether it is legal or not," he stressed.

This statement underscores that LSF only focuses on content that has the potential to violate moral, legal and social norms, while the issue of plagiarism is a different realm of law.
