22 Schools In Pati Learn Online, Impact Of Demo Demand Regent Sudewo Resign

A total of 22 schools in the Pati City area, Pati Regency, Central Java, were transferred to online learning on Wednesday, August 13, due to a massive demonstration demanding Pati Sudewo Regent resign.

Acting Head of the Education and Culture Office of Pati Regency, Andrik Sulaksono, confirmed the policy because there was an appeal from the police and local government.

"According to directions, by letter from the Police for schools above, online learning is carried out," he said.

It is known that the United Pati Society Alliance continues to hold demonstrations, even though the Regent of Pati Sudewo has canceled the increase in Rural and Urban Land and Building Taxes (PBB-P2) by 250 percent. The crowd is now demanding Sudewo resign from his position.

Wednesday morning tens of thousands of people began crowding in front of the Pati Regent's Office. At the location, piles of boxes of mineral water, snacks, and fruits were seen filling the donation post that spread to the front of the Pati DPRD Building.

"The demand for Regent Pati Sudewo to resign as a knight or be forcibly removed by the people of Pati Regency," said the initiator of the demonstration, Supriyono. He said today's action was attended by more than 50 thousand people, exceeding Sudewo's previous challenge.
