Red And White Producer: One For All Denies Accusations Of Buying Characters, Disbursing Its Digital Creative Process
JAKARTA - Responding to the polemic circulating on social media, the producer of the animated film "Red White: One For All", Endiarto, gave an in-depth clarification on the creative process behind the filming.
He firmly denied accusations that the characters in the film were purchased from digital assets, and explained the reality of the animation process in the modern era.
Endiarto admits that in the current production of digital animated films, the use of paid applications and templates is commonplace and is part of the work process.
"We can't make these applications ourselves. We also buy all of them, we also use editing. Like CapCut, Filmora, we have to buy them. Well, what kind of applications, templates, there are also milling about," explained Endiarto in the South Jakarta area.
He compared this modern process with the traditional animation method that has now been abandoned a lot. According to him, sketches are now made digitally and can be accelerated with the help of existing templates.
"Today is the digital era. Our animated films are currently digital, we don't have anyone to Skyrocket paper like the past, like comics, we draw this, there are several sheets we press, we generalize. Today the sketches are digital. We just have to generalize with existing templates," he continued.
However, Endiarto emphasized that the process of using digital assets was carried out after the character concept was formed carefully. He strongly rejects the assumption that his team only "buys" a finished character.
"So if you say that the character buys it, we determine the character, that's it. The character is Nara like this, we will dissect it. Well, after the characters are formed, we will then visualize it to digital. We will sketch it using digital," said Endiarto.
To perfect the visualization, his team made comparisons with various references, both free and paid, to get the most close results to the initial concept.
"Well, after that there is a comparison. To see the comparison, it's free, right on Google," he explained.
"But if we want to see a character that is really close, we have to have a paid one. Well, if the animator is already in work, he must have several references," said Endiarto.
He closed his explanation by reiterating that the construction of the eight main characters in the film had been formed from the start, long before the digital visualization process began.
"So if you say the character is buying, our character is a form, the damage is from the beginning, from 8 children. We have a form because that's what it is, the main character of the 8 children," he concluded.
