Police Arrest Father-son Perpetrator Of Premeditated Murder In Palembang
Palembang Police, South Sumatra Police, arrested J (39) and AR (19) who were father and son, the perpetrator of the murder by stabbing and shooting an MR youth (23).
Palembang Police Chief Kombes Pol Harryo Sugihhartono, said the murder took place on August 9, 2025, on Jalan Captain Robani Kadir, Talang Putri Village, Plaju District.
The two of them went to the victim who was hanging out. AR carried an air rifle and shot the victim in the head twice until it hit the ears and temples. The victim tried to escape, but fell in front of the workshop.
Then, perpetrator J carried a knife and attacked the victim. The victim fought back by stabbing back, but perpetrator A hit the victim in the neck with an air rifle and eventually lay down and was stabbed again and again by J until he died at the location.
After confirming that the victim was no longer breathing, the suspects fled. The dead victim was later found by the owner of the SU workshop (23) and reported to the head of the RT and the local police.
"After conducting an investigation, a joint team from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Plaju Police and the Palembang Police Satreskrim arrested these fathers at Merak Port, Banten, less than 24 hours after the incident," said Haryyo, quoted by ANTARA.
The motive behind the sadistic murder was because the perpetrator had a grudge since 2022. At that time, the victim was suspected of molesting the perpetrator J until he died.

Both are now charged with Article 340 of the Criminal Code concerning premeditated murder, with the threat of death penalty or life imprisonment.
