Intel CEO Position Is Not Safe Even Though He Has Met Donald Trump
JAKARTA Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan has met US President Donald Trump at the White House. The meeting came after the Intel leadership was urged to step down from its position.
Previously, it was suspected that Tan had a conflict of interest with a number of technology companies in China. This has become quite a serious issue in the US, even one of the senators sent an open letter demanding an explanation.
Before Intel opened its voice, Trump also commented on the issue. He urged Tan to step down from his position. The statement had influenced Intel's shares until finally Tan opened his voice and met Trump.
After a direct discussion, Trump's views changed slightly. He looks more friendly to Tan, even praising the meeting through Truth Social, a platform developed by Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG).

Despite getting a lot of praise, Tan's position is still not completely safe. The reason is, Trump stated that Tan still has to continue discussions with members of his cabinet in the near future.
During the meeting, Trump's cabinet members will also advise Tan on the issue of the conflict of interest that dragged the Intel CEO. This follow-up meeting was held so that the government could reach an agreement to monitor Intel.
A similar agreement has also been applied to NVIDIA and AMD. The purpose of this meeting is quite clear, namely so that Intel does not side with China, regardless of the claims Tan made. Trump wants to get full guarantees from the company.
