After Demanding Resignation, Trump Praises His Meeting With Intel CEO

JAKARTA - After meeting with Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan, on August 11, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, praised the CEO calling the meeting "very fun".

In fact, last week Trump publicly asked for Lip-Bu Tan's resignation from his post. He accused the Intel CEO of having a conflict of interest due to his business involvement in China.

The intended interest includes investment in companies linked to the Chinese military, sparking further concerns over Intel's direction of transformation.

However, in a meeting that was also attended by Trade Minister Howard Lutnick and Finance Minister Scott Bessent, Trump actually called the meeting a very interested one and praised Tan's career as an amazing story.

"His success and revival is an amazing story," Trump said of Tan, citing Reuters.

According to a Wall Street Journal report some time ago, Tan said he would have in-depth conversations with Trump and explain his personal and professional backgrounds to avoid links to Chinese companies.

The purpose of this meeting is to get more opportunities and trust from Trump. Tan wants to show that he is always committed to America and does not side with China.
