Acting Governor And Kapolda Accused Of Not Being Neutral In The Papuan Pilkada Rematch

JAYAPURA Acting (Pj) Papua Governor Agus Fatoni and Papuan Police Chief Inspector General Petrus Patrige Rudolf Renwarin are suspected of not being neutral in the implementation of the Papua Pilkada Re-voting (PSU).

Head of the General Bureau of Sinode GKI in Tanah Papua, Rev. Petrus Imoliana, said the two were involved in an intervention to win candidate pair number 2, Matthew Fakhiri 'Aryoko Alberto Ferdinand Rumaropen.

"First, the Acting Governor was assigned to Papua to complete the Papua PSU, not to become a successful team for one of the candidate pairs. Instead, he entered the mosque and gave a lecture that we must choose our priest," said Petrus to reporters, Tuesday, August 12.

Imoliana admitted that she had a number of evidences related to the alleged involvement of the Governor and the Papuan Police Chief in the PSU intervention. The evidence, he said, was in the form of video recordings and voices that allegedly directed the ranks to support the pair number 2.

He also accused members of the police of intimidating the public to choose the couple. In fact, according to him, money politics occurs.

The mode used, among others, took money using an ambulance to Sentani Regency, as well as by plane which was later prevented. The amount of money brought is said to have reached Rp. 2 billion, which is intended for PSU Pilkada organizers.

"Spread it to the organizers. Because if you deceive Papuans, you can't. Papuans even though eating bete is okay, as long as they don't steal. So, the money is given to the organizers," said Imoliana.

He said the allegation was one of the reasons why the community visited the Papua Governor's Office on Jalan Soa Siu Dok II, Jayapura, Monday, August 11, to demand neutrality of the state civil apparatus (ASN) and police officers in the Papuan Pilkada PSU.
