No Need To Worry, Bandung Zoo Animals Are Safe And Managed Amid Conflict
BANDUNG, the Bandung City Government, West Java, stated that animal feed and care costs at the Bandung Zoo (Bandung Zoo) during the closure were fully borne by the Indonesian Zoo Association (PKBSI).
Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan ensured that all animals at Bandung Zoo were in good condition and remained treated during the closure.
"The treatment budget is fully supported by PKBSI. That's clear," said Farhan in Bandung, Antara, Tuesday, August 12.
He explained that the closure of Bandung Zoo was due to an internal conflict between the two foundation managements that were at odds.
Yesterday's dispute was not a dispute between the foundation and the city government, but between the administrators of the foundation itself. That's why the police, the prosecutor's office, and we closed the zoo," he said.
Farhan added that the Bandung Zoo assets that were currently confiscated and blocked by the West Java High Prosecutor's Office belonged to the foundation, not the Bandung City Government.
The blocking, he said, would be opened after a legal decision had permanent force, then the assets were handed over to the legitimate foundation.
Regarding the Bandung Zoo management permit in the future, Farhan said it was the full authority of the central government to determine who was entitled to manage the conservation institution.

"Currently, we are also waiting for a decision from the Director of Conservation of the Ministry of Forestry, because conservation permits come from there," said Farhan.
