1.1 Kg Of Crystal Methamphetamine Worth IDR 1.1 Billion Destroyed In Banten

SERANG - Banten Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) destroyed evidence of methamphetamine weighing a total of 1.1 kilograms or Rp1.1 billion from the disclosure of two cases of illicit drug trafficking in the Tangerang area.

Head of BNNP Banten Brigadier General of Police Rohmad Nursahid said the destruction of the evidence had saved more than 4,400 people from the dangers of narcotics abuse.

"A total of 1.1 kilograms. If it is assumed that 1 gram of crystal methamphetamine was used by four people, this destruction has saved around 4,400 people. The economic value if calculated reaches Rp1.1 billion," said Rohmad, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 12.

Rohmad explained that the evidence that was destroyed came from two narcotics case reports that were successfully uncovered by the Banten BNNP in collaboration with the Banten Customs Regional Office.

The first case was revealed on June 24, 2025 in Pakuhaji District, Tangerang Regency. Officers arrested two suspects with the initials AF (44) and J (55) with a total of 191.98 grams of methamphetamine evidence hidden under the refrigerator and in the rice storage area.

"This disclosure started from information from the public which we then explored with the Customs and Excise team," he explained.

The second case was revealed in Pamulang District, South Tangerang City, on July 21, 2025. In this case, officers arrested suspects with the initials QA (51) and MW (50) with evidence of methamphetamine weighing a total of 953.8 grams.

Apart from methamphetamine, officers also confiscated non-narcotic evidence from the two cases, including digital scales, cell phones, and clear plastic clip packs.

The suspects of the two cases were charged with multiple articles, namely Article 114, Article 112, and Article 132 of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, with the threat of a maximum penalty of death.
