Social Assistance Data Ever Had Problems, Social Minister Explains The Cause

JAKARTA - Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf revealed that the data on beneficiary families (KPM) of social assistance (bansos) had problems when they were still held directly by the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos).

According to the man who is familiarly called Gus Ipul, prior to the issuance of Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 4 of 2025 concerning Social and National Economic Single Data, recipient data at that time called Social Welfare Single Data (DTKS) was under the management of the Ministry of Social Affairs.

The problem is, the Ministry of Social Affairs is also the party that distributes and evaluates social assistance, so that it has the potential to create a conflict of interest.

"Before there was Presidential Instruction No. 4/2025, which directly managed the data from the Ministry of Social Affairs. After that, the Ministry of Social Affairs also distributed aid and wasmonev. So this raises a conflict of interest or a conflict of interest," said Gus Ipul Monday, August 11.

With this Presidential Instruction, KPM data is now managed by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). Gus Ipul positively welcomed this change because BPS can help update recipient data dynamically.

"This data changes every day. Some are born, die, get married, change places. So the data must always be updated," he said.

Previously, Member of Commission VIII DPR Selly Andriany Change revealed that thousands of social assistance recipients had failed to disburse aid due to maladministration of data that had not been completed since 2018.

In West Java VIII, Selly met directly residents who were constrained by disbursement, including Darsinih, who failed to pass banking verification just because his name was written "Darsini" without the letter "H" in the bank system, even though the NIK, address, and name of the parents were appropriate.
