Prabowo Invites 100 People's School Students To Attend The INDONESIAN 80th Anniversary Ceremony At The Palace
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto invited 100 People's School students to attend the flag ceremony in the context of the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta on Sunday 17 August.
This invitation was conveyed by Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono after accompanying the Deputy Minister of Protection for Indonesian Migrant Workers (P2MI), Christina Aryani, visiting the Jakarta 6 Junior High School (SRMP) at the Handayani Center, East Jakarta.
"(Student) InsyaAllah People's School was invited by President Prabowo to attend the Palace. Around 100 children will go to the Palace later, participate in the flag ceremony," he said.
Agus Jabo added, apart from attending the ceremony, the students who attended will also appear as a choir team in front of President Prabowo Subianto. He said, there were 11 students who were representatives of SRMP 6 Jakarta.
"The plan is that there will be a choir representative for this People's School. So we'll see at the Palace they will sing," explained Agus Jabo.
Previously, Deputy Minister of State Secretary (Wamensetneg) Juri Ardiantoro said that this year's August 17 ceremony invited around 8,000 participants. 80 percent of them are the general public, according to the President's direction.
"So, of the 8,000 invitations or 8,000 ceremony participants, 80 percent are the general public," Juri said at a press conference at the Presidential Palace, Friday last week.
This year's independence celebration carries the theme 'United Sovereign, People of Prosperous, Advanced Indonesia'. Based on the official website of the Ministry of State Secretariat (Kemensetneg), the series of celebrations of the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia began with the National Prayer which was held at the Proclamation Monument, Menteng, Central Jakarta on August 1, 2025.
Around 1,500 religious people attended the event. This national prayer is a manifestation that the Indonesian nation is not only a divine nation, but also a nation full of tolerance and plural, in accordance with the motto of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika.
Then, the series of events continued with the inauguration of Paskibraka before the Commemoration Ceremony of the Seconds of the Proclamation was held. Then, the awarding of the Honorary Sign of the Republic of Indonesia was also carried out to individuals, groups or institutions, which were assessed by the President and the government to have services, works and pioneering for the people and nation of Indonesia which will be held on August 13 at the State Palace.
Furthermore, this year's State Speech agenda will be held on August 15, 2025 and continued with the National Pilgrimage and the Holy Swimming led by the President, at the Kalibata National Heroes Cemetery (TMP) on August 16 at 00.00 WIB. The Activities of the Holy Swimming Apple were also held simultaneously in a number of TMPs in various provinces.
Next, the Commemoration Ceremony of Proclamation on August 17 at the Palace, with the Inspector of the Presidential Ceremony of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto.
The ceremony will be preceded by the Flag Order and the Proclamation Text from Monas to the Merdeka Palace using a dating train, and escorted by equestrians. The procession starts at 08.00 WIB. Then in the afternoon, there will also be a Flag Lowering Ceremony.
In a series of Commemoration Ceremonies for the Seconds of the Proclamation at the Palace, the President will give directions so that activities must be solemn and celebrated with joy, joy, and impact for the community.
The series of ceremonies in the front yard of the Merdeka Palace will also feature an art performance that presents various assets of Indonesian arts and culture that depicts Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. Meanwhile, in the central courtyard of the Jakarta Presidential Palace, a People's Party will be held after the ceremony in the morning.
