Tragic! Heavy Equipment Operators Died Covered In Garbage Landslide At Galuga TPA Bogor

BOGOR Work accident occurred at Galuga Final Waste Processing and Processing Site (TPPAS), Cibungbulang District, Bogor Regency, Monday 11 August. Agus Haris Mulyana (49), State Civil Apparatus (ASN) of the Bogor City Environmental Service (DLH), died after being buried by garbage avalanches while operating heavy equipment.

The Head of Cibungbulang Police, Kompol Heri Hermawan, explained that the incident occurred at around 08.30 WIB. At that time, the victim was dredging garbage piles in the middle of the TPPAS area.

"Suddenly there was a landslide that pulled heavy equipment upside down. The victim's head was seriously injured and died on the spot," said Heri, Tuesday, August 12.

According to him, the heavy equipment was in a unstable area, triggering material shifts. Longsoran hoarded parts of the cabin and dragged the victim.

Agus was evacuated to Leuwiliang Hospital, but his life could not be saved. The body was then taken to the funeral home in Rangga Mekar Village, South Bogor District.

The Mayor of Bogor, Dedie A. Rachim, expressed his deep sorrow for the death of Agus Haris. "We are very concerned and convey our condolences to the families of the victims. Of course we will take proportional steps to respond to this incident," he said.

Dedie added that Bogor City lost an employee figure who had served for a long time. He has also assigned the Bogor City DLH to review the location and carry out the handling.

"In the future, things like this should not be repeated. All work at the TPA must be in accordance with procedures and SOPs so that similar risks can be minimized," he said.
