Implementation Of BBN Biodiesel B40 Domestic Capai 6.8 Million KL Per Semester I-2025
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) reported, until June 2025, the implementation of a mixture of 40 percent biodiesel (B40) of natural fuel (KL) was 6.8 million kiloliters (KL).
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia said the realization only reached 50.4 percent of the targeted B40 utilization target of 13.5 million KL.
"The target is to kit 13.5 million by 2025. The realization is already 6.8, meaning that it has reached 50.4 percent and God willing, it will happen," Bahlil said at a press conference in Jakarta, Tuesday, August 11.
He added that the implementation of B40 was divided into two schemes, namely Public Service Obligation (PSO) and non-PSO.
Non-PSO prices, he said, are worn for industries at a much higher price. Meanwhile, the price of PSO is much cheaper because it is subsidized by the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS).
"We are looking for regulations so that industrial companies can use B40 at affordable prices," said Bahlil.
The government's policy regarding the mixing of biodiesel types of biodiesel fuel from 35 percent to 40 percent in diesel fuel is declared valid since January 1, 2025 through the Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources No. 341.K/EK.01/MEM.E/2024 concerning the Utilization of Biodiesel Types of Fuel as a Mixture of Diesel Oil Types of Fuel in Financing by the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency of 40 percent.

Sementara itu, Direktur Jenderal Energi Baru Terbarukan dan Konservasi Energi (EBTKE) Eniya Listiani Dewi mengatakan terdapat beberapa keluhan dari pelaku industri pengguna B40 non-PSO.
Rerata, kata dia, pelaku usaha mengeluhkan harga non-PSO yang masih terbilang mahal.
"Ada yang beli sampai Rp24.000, tapi ada yang beli juga Rp12.000. Ini harganya akan dibagaimanakan, itu baru didiskusikan," tandas Eniya.

Meanwhile, Director General of New Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) Eniya Listiani Dewi said there were several complaints from non-PSO B40 user industry players.
Rerata, he said, business actors complained about the high price of non-PSO.
"Some bought up to Rp. 24,000, but some bought Rp. 12,000. This price will be realized, it will only be discussed," said Eniya.
