Ari Lasso Asks WAMI To Be Examined By BPK To Bareskrim
JAKARTA - As a member, Ari Lasso expressed his disappointment with Wahana Musik Indonesia (WAMI), the largest Collective Management Institute (LMK) in Indonesia in charge of distributing royalties.
Through a statement on Instagram, Ari expressed his doubts from the start on how WAMI carried out its functions.
"From the start, WAMI was LELUCON. REALLY LELUCON," wrote Ari, citing a description of the upload, Monday, August 11.
The former vocalist of Dewa 19 revealed that he had just become a 'victim' for the inability of WAMI to be trusted by his members. The reason is, he received a report on the distribution of royalties on behalf of other people.
"An institution with a very bad management (sorry), which has the potential to be detrimental, could be the state, in this case the Director General of Taxes, and which is definitely detrimental to many of your member musicians," Ari said describing WAMI.
The 52-year-old singer assessed that many strange things had happened for a long time, and asked WAMI to be examined by state institutions.
"A lot of 'games' or carelessness are quite delicious, it feels like to be EXAMINED by STATE INSTITUTIONS, in this case perhaps BPK, KPK, or BARESKRIM," he said. Not to punish, but to make WAMI a credible institution.

Ari continued, this step is expected to improve the welfare of musicians.
"I'm not an MARRIED and MARRIED person, but also a person who needs money as a natural right from a small part of industry players that can make you collect royalties here and there," he said. And I am grateful that I am also a performer who can still earn income from a gig. Praise God."
"Dear WAMI, how do you manage your organization?? He said the current chairman is a musician that I really admire, Mas Adi Kla. Please Brighten up," he concluded.
