Calling Gen Z Prefers Boarding House, Rano Karno Alludes To Salary Factors

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno assessed that people with gene age range Z currently prefer to live in boarding houses rather than apartments or flats before they can have landed houses.

"If millennials or gen Z come back to pays ornaments. On average, they prefer boarding houses to apartments. Because the character of the apartment is very different," said Rano at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Monday, August 11.

There is a reason behind it. Rano views that the younger generation wants the concept of housing that has room to receive guests. Meanwhile, not many apartments or flats provide living rooms with minimal budgets.

"In an apartment, it's not really free. Maybe if it's called a flat, room two, small room. Where do they want to accept guests? Meanwhile, in some apartment concepts, there are lobbys. Well, the flats don't have like that yet," explained Rano.

Therefore, Rano revealed that the DKI Provincial Government has begun to innovate to provide various facilities that residents of flats can enjoy. One of them is the installation of Wi-Fi and other public spaces.

"But actually, if you look at the Jakarta flats, don't talk about apartments. The quality of the Jakarta flats is quite good," he said.

The high price of houses from year to year makes Gen Z unable to buy his dream housing. Moreover, houses are quite expensive properties.

Unfortunately, often Gen Z delays savings to buy a house. This is because of the consumptive lifestyle of Gen Z.
