Welcoming The 80th Anniversary Of The Republic Of Indonesia, PLN Provides 50 Percent Discount Add Electricity

JAKARTA In order to welcome the 80th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, PT PLN (Persero) provides a 50 percent discount for people who want to increase their electricity. This promo will take place from 10 to 23 August 2025.

PLN President Director, Darmawan Prasodjo, said that this program is a form of PLN's appreciation to loyal customers as well as support for the community in meeting electricity needs at a more affordable cost.

"Investigating the spirit of the 80th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence, the promo program "Energy of Independence" is presented to provide a more comfortable experience in using electricity through ease of increasing power," Darmawan said in his statement, Sunday, August 10.

He added that through this program, customers can save significant costs.

As an illustration, customers with a power of 450 VA who want to increase their power to 7,700 VA only need to pay IDR 3,512,625, from a normal rate of IDR 7,025,250.

This promo applies to all low-voltage customers in all one-face tariff groups with an initial power of 450 Volt Ampere (VA) to 5,500 VA, who want to increase their power to a maximum of 7,700 VA. The condition is that customers are registered as PLN users before August 1, 2024.

Darmawan added that the application for additional power can be done easily through the PLN Mobile application. For prepaid customers, just buy electricity tokens, while postpaid customers can pay bills.

He conveyed that after the transaction is successful, customers will receive an added power discount e-voucher through the Reward feature at PLN Mobile or registered email.

Furthermore, he said that customers can apply for additional power by entering the e-voucher code at PLN Mobile and after the payment is verified, the local PLN unit will immediately process the application according to applicable regulations.

Darmawan said that one PLN Mobile account can receive a maximum of four e-vouchers during the promo period to provide equal opportunities to more customers.

"The process is easy and fast, everything is done through PLN Mobile. We hope that people will take advantage of this opportunity as well as possible before the program ends on August 23, 2025," he concluded.
