Google Will Remove Physical SIM Card From Pixel 10 Series
JAKARTA Google will remove slots for physical SIM cards on its newest cellphone. Reportedly, this change will begin to be implemented in the upcoming Pixel 10 series launch.
This news was shared by a famous leaker named Evan Blass through his X account, namely @evleaks.
Launching from 9to5google, Google will remove all physical SIM slots and switch to eSIM technology.
The devices that will be affected include Pixel 10, Pixel 10, and Pixel 10 Pro XL. Instead, the three phones will offer two eSIM slots so that users can still use two SIMs.

This is an improvement because the previous Google Pixel series only offered one eSIM. In addition to leaking the eSIM slot upgrade, Blass also leaked the SIM slot for the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.
The foldable phone will maintain the physical SIM card slot. Although Google has not confirmed yet, the leaked Pixel 10 Pro Fold marketing video shows a fairly clear driver's balance view.
Keep in mind that this information cannot be trusted 100 percent. The reason is, there are several other leaks that show that the Pixel 10 series will continue to use physical SIMs. However, Blass seems confident in the information he shares.
In his report, Blass emphasized that the leaks he shared only apply to the United States market. That way, there is still the possibility that the Pixel 10 series released in other countries will maintain physical SIM slots.
This change is similar to the move Apple has chosen. The company has removed the physical SIM card slot on the latest iPhone model in the US, but this change can make it difficult for Android users.
The reason is, the use of eSIM in the Android ecosystem is still less than that of iOS. Android users also tend to be slower in adopting eSIM.
