Ahead Of The Republic Of Indonesia's Independence Day, Khofifah Urges East Java Residents Not To Spread The One Piece Flag

East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa invited the local community not to fly the One Piece flag next to the Red and White Flag ahead of the commemoration of the 80th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.

"It doesn't have to be children but all ages, I invite the One Piece (flagged) in this independence month not to be flown," said Khofifah after visiting the Al-Maarif Education Foundation, Singosari District, Malang Regency, East Java, as quoted by ANTARA.

According to Khofifah, independence must be a momentum to strengthen the spirit of nationalism of the entire community, especially the people of East Java.

The spirit of nationalism, he said, was shown by flying the Red and White Flag and it needed to be number one.

With together raising the Indonesian national flag, he believes that the spirit of independence and a sense of unity will live in the whole heart of the community.

Therefore, Khofifah reiterated that all residents of East Java did not fly the One Piece flag.

"Moreover, it is juxtaposed with the Red and White," he said.

During his visit to Malang, Khofifah with students, parents, and teachers from the Al-Maarif Education Foundation raised the Red and White Flag while singing a song called the Flag from the Brown band.

"Today the spirit was awakened, in all the lines I attended then I proposed (to the management) to fly the Red and White and sing then the Flag," said Khofifah.

He emphasized that students who are the next generation of the nation must continue to be given strengthening in their sense of belonging to the homeland.

"How the struggles and sacrifices continue to be continued to the next generation, it will protect this (uniformity and national sovereignty)," he said.

As is known, ahead of the commemoration of Indonesia's 80th Independence, the phenomenon of raising the One Piece flag is rife everywhere.

Not only flags, several people drew a skull logo on the One Piece flag on the walls and roads in the residential environment.

The One Piece flag, which has a white skull, wears a straw hat, and has a black background, is called Jolly Roger from anime and manga with a similar title, which is the identity of the Jerami Topi pirate group.

The raising of the One Piece flag has now frequently appeared on social media, ranging from being installed on the roof of the house to the back of the freight carrier.
