Vice President JD Vance: US Doesn't Plan To Recognize Palestinian Country

JAKARTA - United States (US) Vice President JD Vance confirmed that the US has no plans to recognize the Palestinian state. This affirmation was made after the pledge of France, Britain and Canada recognized the Palestinian state at the UN session next September.

This was conveyed by Vance when he met British Foreign Minister David Lemmy on Friday, August 8.

Vance said the US and Britain had a common goal of resolving the crisis in the Middle East, but there were differences of opinion.

"We may have some disagreements about how exactly to achieve that goal, and we will talk about it today," the US vice president said.

Vance reiterated that the US has no plans to recognize the Palestinian state. He said he did not know what the real meaning of the confession was.

"Given the lack of a functioning government there," he continued.

On the other hand, Britain took a tougher stance on Israel, expressing its intention to recognize Palestinian countries with France and Canada to pressure Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu over the continuing humanitarian conflicts and crises in Gaza.
