Doctor Boyke Reveals The Danger Of Shaved Out Of Badminton In Women
JAKARTA - Not a few women choose to shave their genital hair for the reason of cleanliness or comfort. However, well-known sexologist dr. Boyke Dian Nugraha reminded that this habit can actually carry a health risk that is rarely realized.
In a statement, dr. Boyke explained that pubic hair has an important function as a protector of the intimate organs of dirt, bacteria, and fungi.
"The vaginal genitals are produced, which actually causes bacteria and fungi to enter more easily because they do not have a filter," said dr. Boyke, quoted from the HAS Creative YouTube channel.
He added that pubic hair is actually a natural system of body defense that should not be completely removed.
"The genitals were created to filter the dirt before going inside. Only if the hair is not treated, mealy comes and so on can also happen," said dr. Boyke.
According to him, the main function of hair in intimate areas is to keep the area protected, especially because of damp conditions that are prone to infection.
"The function is still to protect the vagina itself. It's called the area there, because it's humid and can't be given powder and so on," said dr. Boyke.

Furthermore, dr. Boyke also discusses habits that parents often do to girls, such as providing powder in the vaginal area. He said that this habit can be dangerous in the long term.
"Many small children, he took a shower, urinated and was still a baby, given powder for his vaginal area. Now the powder went into the vagina and stuck to the egg protection, finally the baby girl had an ovarian cyst," he said.
According to him, this condition does not appear direct, but can have a serious impact in the future.
"So things seem to be from a habit. But if you study it more deeply, why did you get a cyst? Possibly because of that," said dr. Boyke.
He has also handled direct cases that prove the potential risks of this habit.
"I once handled cyst surgery in a 14-year-old child, and his mother admitted that she often climbs the child's intimate area from a baby. The bed can enter and stick to the egg cage, triggering an ovarian tumor," he added.
In closing, dr. Boyke reminded the importance of education and maintenance of intimate areas from an early age, especially for girls.
"That's why you have a girl to look after her genitals. How to take care of her, clean her up, she's a mother also teaches her child to start praying, start teaching with sanitary napkins, don't overturn and so on." concluded dr. Boyke.
