OTT Only Secures Private And Civil Servants In Southeast Sulawesi, KPK Chair: Regent Is Not In Place

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Setyo Budiyanto said the arrest operation (OTT) in Southeast Sulawesi succeeded in capturing a number of parties today. Among them are civil servants (PNS) whose identities have not been identified.

"There were several parties, the private sector and civil servants who were arrested," said Setyo when confirmed by reporters via text message, Thursday, August 7.

Meanwhile, when asked about the arrest of East Kolaka Regent Abdul Azis, Setyo did not want to talk much.

"Indeed, the regent is not there," he said.

Initially, Abdul Azis' information was caught by OTT was conveyed by Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Johanis Tanak. He said the regent was one of the figures who was also arrested.

"(Regent, red) Koltim," he said via text message to reporters.

The silent operation that was said to have caught Abdul Azis was in the spotlight of the Nasdem Party. The General Treasurer of the NasDem DPP Ahmad Sahroni asked the anti-corruption commission not to drama and to make noise regarding the arrest of his cadres.

"We respect the law and the investigation process, but don't do dramas in open spaces on social media," said NasDem DPP General Treasurer Ahmad Sahroni, in his statement, Thursday, August 7.

Sahroni said Abdul Azis attended the NasDem Party National Working Meeting (Rakernas) when reportedly caught OTT. "If this Regent is the target of law enforcement, please do it according to the process. But don't make noise as if OTT. People are now smarter, they cannot be fooled," said the Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR.

He also regretted the framing that created public noise, even though there was no formal legal process.

"If this Regent is the target of law enforcement, please do it according to the process. But don't make noise as if OTT. People are now smarter, they can't be fooled," said Sahroni.

"So it is very unfortunate if this drama is played by parties we do not know the purpose and purpose," he added.
