Draft Roadmap And Perpres AI Completed, Expected To Be Completed By The End Of September
JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria revealed that the roadmap and presidential regulations on safety and security governance for the use of artificial intelligence (AI) will be completed simultaneously in September 2025.
Currently, he said, his party has completed the preparation of the roadmap and Perpres, and then they will conduct public consultations with relevant stakeholders.
"We hope that the process can be completed based on our timeline at the end of September. Yes, that was it. At the same time (roadmap and Perpres)," said Nezar on the sidelines of the launch of the Anti-Spam and Anti-Scam Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison feature on Thursday, August 7th.
Nezar admitted that the discussion of AI regulations had been carried out in 21 meetings in almost six weeks, and involved seven working groups (pokja) from various ministries and institutions.
"It can reach 300-350 people once in a discussion. We have held this series of discussions almost 6 weeks, approximately 21 meetings," he added.

After public discussion, Komdigi will submit a draft road map and presidential regulation regarding the adoption of AI to the Ministry of State Secretariat and enter the harmonization stage at the Ministry of Law.
"The result is expected to be sufficient to represent the interests of existing stakeholders," said Nezar.
The Director General of Digital Ecosystems of the Ministry of Komdigi, Edwin Hidayat Abdullah, also conveyed that public consultations regarding the draft road map and regulations regarding the use of AI will be announced in the near future.
"Public consolidation, God willing, this week or early next week we will upload it on the website to hear input from the public," he said.
