Minister Of State Secretary: The Terms 'Rojali' And 'Rohana' Are Not Jokes, But Economic Lecutan

JAKARTA - Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi responded to a phenomenon that was busy on social media regarding the terms 'Rojali' and 'Rohana'. According to him, the term reflects a real challenge in the current economic conditions that must be addressed immediately.

"Frankly, I'm not too happy with that term. In my opinion, the term should not be used as a joke or a joke. It is a trigger for us that we still have a lot to fight for, we still have a lot to fix," said Prasetyo when giving a press statement at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

The term Rojali is an acronym for a sparsely buying group, which describes groups of people who often visit shopping centers but rarely make transactions. Meanwhile Rohana or a group Only Asking, refers to consumers who only wonder about products, prices, or discounts, but don't buy.

This phenomenon is considered to be a reflection of the weak purchasing power of the people in the midst of economic uncertainty in the last few months.

Prasetyo admitted that national economic growth in the second quarter of 2025 which reached 5.12 percent should be appreciated. However, this achievement has not fully illustrated the real conditions of all levels of society.

"There are still people who are in decile 1 and 2, those who live in poverty and even extreme poor. Phenomenon such as 'Rojali' and 'Rohana' arise from this group, who have not felt the direct benefits of economic growth," he said.

He emphasized that this condition must be a common concern. The government, he said, continues to strive to optimize economic growth through increasing investment and reducing budget leaks.

"Bahwa masih ada kelompok saudara-saudara kita yang memang harus terus bekerja keras, mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi kita lebih optimal lagi, sebagaimana yang Bapak Presiden sering sampaikan," ujar Prasetyo.

"That there are still groups of our brothers and sisters who really have to continue to work hard, encourage our economic growth to be even more optimal, as the President often said," said Prasetyo.
