Prabowo Asks Hospitals In Remote Areas And Areas To Have Complete Facilities

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto emphasized his commitment to encouraging equal distribution of health services throughout Indonesia. The main focus of the head of state is ensuring hospital facilities (RS) in every adequate district/city, including in remote areas.

Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin said the president wanted 514 districts/cities to have hospitals with complete facilities and optimal services.

"He wants 514 districts and cities to have good hospitals," Budi said after facing President Prabowo at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Tuesday, August 5.

President Prabowo also emphasized the importance of assigning doctors and providing medical devices (alkes) in line with the construction of hospital infrastructure.

"Hospitals that already have tools will need human resources and financing. He wants specialist doctors to be accelerated, as well as financing," explained Budi.

The construction of hospitals in the 3T area (disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost) is one of the president's priorities. Of the 32 hospitals planned, 22 hospitals have laid the first stone, while the other 10 hospitals will follow in the second semester of 2025.

"People are very happy with the construction of hospitals in these remote areas," said Budi.

In the near future, President Prabowo will inaugurate three major hospitals in Jayapura, Jakarta, and Solo.

This step is part of the transformation of national health infrastructure, so that people throughout the country get access to equitable and quality medical services.
