Exports Rise 7.7 Percent In Semester I-2025, Dominated By China
JAKARTA - Minister of Trade (Mendag) Budi Santoso said Indonesia's export performance in September I-2025 experienced positive growth.
The total value of national exports from January to June 2025 reached 135.41 billion US dollars or grew 7.7 percent compared to the same period the previous year.
Budi said the increase in export performance contributed to the trade balance surplus to 19.48 billion US dollars, up from 15.58 US dollars in the first semester of 2024.
"Our main export destination is still the RRT, then followed by the United States, India, Japan and Malaysia," he said at a press conference on Economic Growth in the Second Quarter of 2025, in Jakarta, Tuesday, August 5.
Furthermore, Budi is optimistic that Indonesia's exports will continue to increase in line with the completion of a number of strategic trade agreements.
"We have just completed the EU and IAU trade negotiations. Hopefully in the future our exports can increase more because the opportunity or market share will be wider open," he said.
Budi said the agricultural sector recorded the highest growth of 49.77 percent on an annual basis, followed by the processing industry of 16.57 percent.
Meanwhile, exports from the mining sector and others contracted 25.21 percent.
Among destination countries, said Budi, Switzerland became the country with the highest export growth, soaring 111.2 percent in the first semester of 2025. Other countries are Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Bangladesh, and Singapore.
