Australia Collaborates With Amazon's Kuiper Satellite To Provide Internet Access In Rural Areas
JAKARTA - NBN Co, Australia's national network operator company, has signed a low-orbit Amazon Kuiper satellite project, in bringing internet access to Australia's regional, rural and remote areas.
The partnership will provide fast and reliable satellite internet services for more than 300,000 eligible customers when the service was launched in Australia in mid-2026.
"We are proud to be working with NBN to bring Kuiper to more customers and communities across Australia, as well as opening up new opportunities for hundreds of thousands of people in rural and remote areas of the country," said Rajeev Badyal, Vice President of Technology at Amazon's Project Kuiper.
For residents in regional, rural, and remote areas, Kuiper's services will provide better access to remote work, online education, digital health services, streaming entertainment, and reliable communication with family and relatives.

The partnership also demonstrates Project Kuiper's commitment to working with organizations that have a vision similar to Amazon in increasing internet access worldwide.
By leveraging Australia's established NBN Co network and advanced Kuiper satellite technology, this collaboration aims to create new opportunities for hundreds of thousands of Australians to enjoy the fast and reliable internet.
