Sorong City Police Destroy 3.4 Kilograms Of Cannabis
SORONG - Sorong City Police (Polresta) The city destroyed evidence of narcotics in the form of 3.4 kilograms of marijuana as a form of the local police's commitment to eradicating drug trafficking in the Sorong City jurisdiction.
Sorong City Police Chief Kombes Amry Siahaan explained that the evidence was destroyed today, which is the result of the disclosure of several narcotics crime cases in recent months.
"This destruction is a form of our seriousness in taking action against all forms of illicit drug trafficking that damage the younger generation. There is no tolerance for the perpetrators," he said in Sorong, Antara, Tuesday, August 5.
He also added that efforts to eradicate drugs continue to be carried out intensively through patrols, investigations, and cooperation with the community.
"Resident involvement is very important in providing information related to suspicious activities in the surrounding environment," he explained.
The evidence was destroyed by burning at the Sorong City Police Headquarters yard, Tuesday, witnessed by elements of Forkopimda, the Prosecutor's Office, as well as community and media leaders.
In addition, his party also managed to arrest other drug trafficking perpetrators in the Sorong City area with the initials AR and JM with evidence of methamphetamine weighing 1, 841 grams.
He admitted that the drug case was the mastermind behind the crime in Sorong City.
"Because to get it, you have to need money. A shortcut by taking acts of robbery and theft to be able to buy the illegal drug," he said.
Regarding his seriousness in dealing with drug cases, he ordered all ranks at the Polsek level to continue to monitor, routine patrols so as to narrow the space for the perpetrators to move.
