Bengkulu Governor: ASN Who Don't Want To Serve The People, Please Apply For Move

BENGKULU - Bengkulu Governor Helmi Hasan emphasized that state civil servants (ASN) within the Bengkulu Provincial Government who are not serious in providing services to the public are welcome to apply for a transfer of duties.

"From the start I said, if you don't want to join the people, that's okay. Suggest moving, where do you want to move, today I signed it directly without thinking," Helmi said in Bengkulu, Antara, Tuesday, August 5.

Helmi made this statement after he still found ASN who were considered negligent and not serious about carrying out their duties as public servants.

"Some of us, I pay attention to there are still things that are not serious in serving the community. As if this is not important. If you change your position to become an ordinary person, especially what is difficult economically, then you feel the importance of this Rapid Reaction Unit (URC)," said Helmi.

Helmi emphasized that ASN is paid from public money and therefore should show dedication in serving.

"People can't get TPP (income improvement allowances) and salaries, we get monthly salaries. People don't necessarily have monthly income. Don't act as if we have to be served, the people who serve," he said.

However, he added, firm attitudes towards ASN that are not serious must be balanced with awards for those who work well.

He gave an example of the Rapid Response Unit for Health Services and National Health Insurance (JKN) which succeeded in assisting the community, getting incentives from the Bengkulu Provincial Government.

"Each URC team that is able to serve one person per day related to the issue of public health protection will receive an incentive of IDR 50,000. If they can assist 30 people in a month, they can get IDR 1.5 million," said Helmi.

According to him, the award deserves to be given because it is not easy to provide services all the time, assist, and even take people who have difficulty accessing health services using JKN.

That's what work means and then get a reward. Many of us don't work, basically we can TPP. Those who do only swear in the corner, they still get it, the same as those who work seriously," said Helmi.
