Coordinating Ministry For Political, Legal And Security Affairs Ensures Re-Pilkada Security In Papua August 6
JAYAPURA - Coordinating Ministry for Political and Security Affairs (Kemenko Polkam) ensures that the re-voting (PSU) in Papua Province, which is scheduled for August 6, 2025, is ready to be carried out in a safe, orderly and democratic manner.
This was conveyed by Deputy I for Domestic Political Coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Heri Wiranto, as the Head of the 2024 Election Monitoring Team who is part of the 2024 National Coordination Decree (Diskornas) Pilkada Simultaneously.
"We have held a coordination meeting with all relevant elements where the results of the meeting can conclude that all organizers are ready to implement the PSU," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 4.
According to Heri, the implementation of the PSU will not only take place in Papua Province, but also in Boven Digoel and North Barito Regencies, Central Kalimantan.
"And currently a team from the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs is assigned to carry out direct monitoring in the three regions as a form of the central government's commitment to maintaining the integrity and smooth running of the democratic process in the regions," he said.
The local government together with the KPU and Bawaslu have cooperated optimally in preparing all technical aspects of the implementation of PSU, including logistical readiness, budget support, and security.

"Local governments have facilitated various implementation needs, ranging from the support for funds that have been prepared since a month ago, to the logistics of the General Election. The elements of the TNI and Polri have also stated that they are ready to secure the running of the PSU," he said.
It is hoped that the August 6 PSU can run peacefully and democratically, without significant obstacles. His party appealed to the entire community to exercise their right to vote and keep the situation conducive.
"We hope that this time the PSU will take place safely, peacefully, democratically, and conducively. Community participation is very important to determine which regional leaders are really desirable," he said.
