Newly Opened, Registration For RI's 80th Anniversary Ceremony At The Merdeka Palace Is Full In 1 Hour

Registration to be a participant in the ceremony to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, officially closed within an hour after opening on Monday, August 4.

The Ministry of State Secretariat (Kemensetneg) through the official website view.istanapresiden.go.id opens registration for the general public to attend the ceremony which will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025.

However, the enthusiasm of the community made the quota of 6,400 participants immediately fulfilled. This number is 80 percent of the total quota of participants set by 8,000 people.

"People can choose to attend the morning ceremony of the Proclamation Seconds at 10.00 WIB or the afternoon ceremony of Lowering the Flag at 17.00 WIB," said Deputy Minister of State Secretary (Wamensesneg) Juri Ardiantoro in his statement, Monday, August 4.

After registering and filling out the form online, participants will receive a registration number via confirmation e-mail. The registration status can be checked regularly on the View page of the Presidential Palace.

Juri added that President Prabowo Subianto allocated most of the participant quotas for the general public so that more citizens could be directly involved in this year's independence celebrations.

After the ceremony, the participants who attended the Palace were also invited to attend the People's Party which will be held for the first time in the central courtyard of the Presidential Palace.

Various food and beverage dishes will be served free of charge by street vendors who usually sell around the Palace and Monas areas.

The President prepared various free dishes for ceremony participants. The preparation also involves street vendors around the Palace," said the jury.

For people who do not participate in the live ceremony, they can still enjoy the People's Party which is held in the National Monument (Monas) area from morning to night.

The party will be enlivened with entertainment stages, competitions, MSME culinary, to fireworks.

As part of a series of celebrations, the Government will also hold the Independence Carnival on the eve of August 17. The ornamental car parades from various ministries, state institutions, the TNI, Polri, BUMN, and Danantara will follow routes from the Monas area, Jalan MH Thamrin, Jalan Sudirman, to Simpang Semanggi.

"This Karnaval is expected to entertain the people present later," said the jury.
