DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Permits Tourist Attractions During Eid Holidays With Special Notes
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government allows tourist attractions to keep their operations open during the Eid al-Fitr holiday or Lebaran 2021. However, provided that the visitor's capacity is only 30 percent.
The decision was stated in the Circular of the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency Number 81/SE/2021 concerning the operation of tourist or recreation spots on the Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijriah/2021 holiday during the implementation of community activity restrictions (PPKM).
In a letter signed by Plt Head of DKI Disparekraf Gumilar Ekalaya Friday, May 7, 2021, it was emphasized that during operations, tourist attractions are asked to apply Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and health protocols strictly and firmly by applicable regulations.
"There will be restrictions on visitors with provisions for tourism areas or recreational parks and water tourism as much as 30 percent of the maximum capacity", said a circular received by VOI, quoted on Saturday, May 8.
Gumilar explained that restrictions on tourism business activities are needed to prevent and control the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak in the country.
Meanwhile, for waterparks that already have an operating license, they still follow the provisions in the Decree of the Head of Disparekraf Number 354 of 2021, namely a maximum capacity of 25 percent and operational from 06.00 to 18.00 WIB.
"The operating hours of business activities in tourism areas or recreational parks, water tourism and water parks follow the stipulated provisions", he explained.
In this circular, the DKI Provincial Government also asks tourist attractions to implement an online ticket booking system and carry out reservations. As well, maximizing the number of internal COVID-19 task forces, and must coordinate with related parties or agencies.
Opening of tourist attractions requests from entrepreneurs
Head of the Tourism Industry Division of the Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, Dedi Sumardi said entrepreneurs hoped the government would open tourist attractions during this year's Eid holiday.
"If they want it to open, it is a matter of income from them. Hopefully, this Eid can cover a little of the shortage so far," said Dedi when contacted, Friday, May 7.
However, during the prohibition period for going home from May 6 to 17, tourist attractions are still open. It's just that, currently, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan is still considering the operation of tourist attractions during Eid al-Fitr on May 13 and 14.
This is because Jakarta Metro Police asked Anies to close tourist attractions during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday, such as Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, Ancol, Ragunan Zoo, and white sand beaches in PIK North Jakarta.
"At that time at the Regional Police to minimize, prevent the spread of COVID-19 during the holiday period. Incidentally, tourist attractions are the main target for people on vacation. So, the regional police want tourist attractions to be closed", he said.
"So, specifically for tourist attractions, there is a clause when the holidays will be re-arranged later", he added.
