Golkar Munaslub Needs Manuver And Big Funds

JAKARTA A political observer at the University of Muhammadiyah Tangerang, Ahmad Chumady, said that the Golkar Party's Extraordinary National Conference (Munaslub) to remove Bahlil Lahadalia from the chairperson was not easy to realize.

"Bahlil has legitimacy as general chairman because he has just been elected and is currently supported by most party structures in the region. A large maneuver and fund is needed to get the majority support of the Provincial DPD and the approval of the Board of Trustees. Political maneuvers only succeed if there is a consolidation of internal strength and political blessing from influential parties," he explained, Sunday, August 3, 2025.

Rumors of the Golkar Party Munaslub emerged after the Head of the Religious and Creative Division of the Golkar Party DPP who is also the Minister of ATR/Head of BPN, Nusron Wahid, was reportedly summoned by President Prabowo Subianto. During the meeting, the Palace was claimed to have asked for the implementation of the National Conference to replace Bahlil to be carried out before the turn of the year.

However, the rumors were denied by a senior Golkar Party politician, Nurdin Halid, who stated that the rumors of the munaslub to replace Bahlil were hoaxes.

He emphasized that Golkar has so far been solid in supporting Bahlil as general chairman and that this maneuver is an agenda of parties who intend to damage the solidity of the Golkar Party.

However, Ahmad Chumayy's nickname-internal Golkar Party still has to be vigilant regarding rumors of Palace support.

Moreover, Bahlil, who currently serves as Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources in the Prabowo Cabinet, is considered a 'tipitation' of the previous president, Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

In addition, Bahlil has been considered very striking as an extension of Jokowi's interests in Golkar.

Therefore, it is natural that there are camps within Golkar protesting this by raising the issue of the munaslub.

"But everything goes back to the party's internal political calculations and the need for stability of the upcoming government," he added.

Di sisi lain, Memed menilai, jika rumor restu Istana terhadap pelaksanaan munaslub adalah benar, maka kandidat yang paling ideal sebagai pengganti Bahlil merupakan tokoh Partai Golkar yang memiliki kedekatan dengan Presiden Prabowo atau figur yang dianggap bisa menjaga kesinambungan pemerintahan Prabowo.

“Nama-nama seperti Airlangga Hartarto, Bambang Soesatyo, Agus Gumiwang atau Ahmad Doli Kurnia Tanjung bisa menjadi alternatif karena dikenal dekat dengan lingkaran Prabowo,” katanya.

On the other hand, Memed assessed, if rumors of the Palace's blessing on the implementation of the munaslub are true, then the most ideal candidate as Bahlil's replacement is a Golkar Party figure who is close to President Prabowo or a figure who is considered to be able to maintain the continuity of Prabowo's government.

"Names such as Airlangga Hartarto, Bambang Soesatyo, Agus Gumiwang or Ahmad Doli Kurnia Tanjung can be an alternative because they are known to be close to Prabowo's circle," he said.
