The Wife Reported That This Homecoming Was Quarantined At The Sports Hall, Even Ganjar Laughed
PURWOKERTO - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo met two travelers who were quarantined at the Satria Purwokerto Sports Arena (GOR) complex.
During a visit with Banyumas Regent Achmad Husein, Ganjar met a homecoming traveler named Wagiman who claimed to be quarantined because his wife reported him.
"I was reported by Pak's wife. Because my wife reported the RT head, I was immediately quarantined," Wagiman said as quoted by Antara, May 7.
Although the statement made Ganjar and the other officials laugh, Wagiman tried to make sure he was actually reported by his wife.
Wagiman said, when he just returned from Jakarta, his wife immediately reported it to the RT head. He was immediately taken to a quarantine place even though he had not had the chance to meet his wife and children.
"Immediately we are quarantined here, we have not yet found the children and wives quarantined here," said Wagiman.
He was irritated but finally realized his mistake in going home after knowing that all the travelers who came to Banyumas on May 6-17 would be quarantined.
Wagiman was also willing to undergo a five-day quarantine as determined by the Banyumas Regency Government.
"I ordered the other brothers, you don't have to go home if you want a healthy family, don't go home. Homecoming is also miserable, because it will be quarantined like me," he continued.
Another homecoming traveler, Rasikun, admitted to returning to Banyumas on May 6 and was immediately picked up by village officials to undergo quarantine at GOR Satria Purwokerto.
"I just go along, because there are regulations what else to do," he said.
Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo said Wagiman's story was an inspiring story because the man was quarantined because of a report from his wife.
"So he was reported by his wife to the RT. His wife said that her husband was going home from Jakarta on such a date, so that when he came home he was immediately caught" he said.
Ganjar expressed his appreciation for the participation of the Banyumas community and hoped that this incident could become an example for all.
He also supports the efforts made by the Banyumas Regency Government to quarantine all travelers who return home from 6-17 May for five days in order to provide a deterrent effect.
Apart from meeting the two travelers who were quarantined at the Satria Purwokerto Sports Hall Complex, Ganjar also visited and encouraged 50 residents who were undergoing isolation at the Pondok Slamet Quarantine House, Baturraden. As many as 50 residents contracted COVID-19 from the tarawih cluster.
