Pablo Favarel Officially Leaves Dewa United After 2025 IBL Champion

JAKARTA Coach Pablo Favarel officially left Dewa United Banten after bringing the team to history with the title Indonesia Basketball League (IBL) in the 2025 season.

This assurance was conveyed directly by Dewa United Banten on Friday, August 1, 2025, WIB night. Apart from Pablo, the stretch and conditioning coach, Martin Galdeano, also left the club.

"Dewa United Banten would like to express his deepest gratitude to head coach Pablo Favarel and stretch and conditioning coach Martin Galdeano for their dedication and hard work while defending the club."

"Their contribution is very meaningful in the team's journey, especially in building foundations and developing the quality of players," Dewa United wrote in their statement.

Pablo brought Dewa United to secure the title of the first IBL in the club's history by defeating defending champion Pelita Jaya 2-1 in the best of three match format.

Dewa United lost in the first game when they hosted, then rose to steal two other games that took place at the opponent's headquarters.

"We are very grateful for all the hard work and commitment they have given," said Dewa United Banten President Michael Oliver Wellerz.

Pablo has been with Dewa United for two full seasons. Meanwhile, Martin spent three seasons making a big contribution in shaping the team's excellent physical condition.

"Working with Dewa United Banten is a very valuable experience. I am proud to be part of this team's journey," said Pablo.

The Argentine coach will reportedly coach the Gimnasia Comodoro club in his hometown. The club in question has also made an official announcement on social media accounts.
