MIND ID Successfully Reduces Emissions 838,000 Tons In Operational Areas

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Mining Industry Holding, MIND ID, reported that during the last three years, from 2022 to 2024, the MIND ID Group managed to record a reduction in GRK emissions of 838,000 tons of equivalent CO2 (ktCO2e). This number exceeds the cumulative target of 711 ktCO2e.

This achievement is a clear proof of the effectiveness of the decarbonization strategy implemented, and has a positive impact on air quality, wastewater, and the environment around operations.

MIND ID Pria Utama's Corporate Secretary said that the company is proactive in in integrating programs aimed at being able to reduce GRK emissions on the operational side.

The Company consistently strives so that the operations of the browser industry can also be managed properly so that each activity can also reduce impact and contribute to improving environmental quality.

"We are trying to ensure that MIND ID group operations are also pursued to be able to make maximum contributions in improving environmental quality," he said, Friday, August 1.

Pria said that one of the mainstay programs that had a significant impact was the conversion of fuel at PT Inalum, precisely at the dumping plant facility in Kuala Tanjung.

Substitution of fuel from High-Speed Diesel (HSD) to Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) managed to reduce carbon emissions by 3,700 tCO2e per year.

At another location, PT Bukit Asam Tbk consistently carries out heavy equipment electrification for coal handling such as Bucket Wheel Excavator (BWE) which replaces the Solar Dump Truck for coal transportation operations in Tanjung Enim. This initiative recorded a decrease in emissions of 5,200 tCO2e per year.

The co-firing method using palm oil shell biomass and diesel installation (PV) of 2x10 KwP in the post-mining area has been able to reduce carbon emissions by a total of 584 tCO2e per year.

In addition, the Man said that MIND ID implemented operational excellence in mineral mining and processing activities.

This is reflected in the decrease in the intensity of group emission, from 0.030 Tons of CO2eq/Rp. Million revenues in 2023 to 0.024 Tons of CO2eq/Rp. Million revenues in 2024.

Men emphasized that these decarbonization programs will continue to be developed to significantly reduce carbon emissions from operational activities.

"We realize that every operational activity we have emissions. Therefore, we are in the form of so that the emissions can continue to be suppressed, as a form of our responsibility and efforts to protect the Earth of the Motherland," he concluded.
