Sal Priadi's Hope For Local Music Skena In Malang

JAKARTA - Sal Priadi has his own pride when talking about Malang, his hometown. In Apple City, the 33-year-old singer started her musical journey, reaching national popularity.

Recently, Sal appeared at the BRI Jazz Mount Series 2 Bromo. Even though the location of the event at the Amphitheater Jiwa Java Resort Bromo entered the Probolinggo administrative area, this festival became one of the prides of Malang musicians because of its adjacent location.

"Jazz Gunung is one of the legendary festivals. He often hears friends from Malang playing here. So, I as want to play here, and finally today is realized," said Sal, met on the sidelines of his appearance.

Sal sees that Malang has great musical potential. Gunung Jazz in Bromo which has been held as many as 17 editions is certainly an important role. However, he hopes that there will be more music festivals.

"Is the festival enough in Malang? The more festivals and the more diverse, the better," said Sal.

"Hopefully it's not just jazz, but there are others like experimental music, electronics, and even noise have their own festivals," he added.

As a local musician who is able to penetrate the national market, the singer of From another planet believes that the potential of Malang musicians will be better with support for all types of music.

"If Malang can produce various festivals with various genres, I think it will be cooler for the music atmosphere in Malang," he said.
