Meeting Trenggono, Australian Minister Strengthens Collaboration With RI To Manage Marine Resources
JAKARTA - Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KP) Sakti Wahyu Trenggono received a visit from Australian Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry Julie Collins on Thursday, July 31, 2025.
In uploading a video on the official Instagram account @kkpgoid, the visit was made to strengthen the collaboration of marine resource management in both countries. The reason is, Indonesia and Australia are both maritime countries.
"Indonesia-Australia strengthens collaboration and cooperation in the marine and fisheries sector. Today, Minister Trenggono received a visit from Australian Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry Julie Collins to strengthen collaboration in the management of marine resources in both countries," explained the KKP as quoted from the upload of the official Instagram account @kkpgoid, Friday, August 1.
In addition to discussing the potential and management of sustainable marine resources, a joint statement was also signed between the KKP Quality Agency and the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) Australia.
The signing aims to initiate cooperation between Indonesia and Australia in the field of quality assurance and safety of fishery products.
"With a joint recognition of the KKP as competent authority to facilitate exports of fishery products to Australia," explained the KKP.

Julie Collins hopes that the cooperation can continue in the future.
