Selling Narcotics, Unscrupulous Members Of The Regional House of Representatives Tanah Laut Become Suspects

JAKARTA - Investigators of Sub-Directorate 1 of the South Kalimantan Regional Police's Narcotics Research Directorate have named a member of the Regional House of Representatives Tanah Laut with the initials SYA (26) as a suspect in the narcotics crime case he has committed.

"There were three people named as suspects, including elements of the people's representatives that we secured earlier", said the Director of the Drug Investigation of the South Kalimantan Regional Police, Kombes Tri Wahyudi, in Banjarmasin, as reported by Antara, Friday, May 7.

It is known that SYA and two other people, MR (18) and HS (47), were arrested on Saturday, May 1 at a separate location in Tanah Laut Regency.

The disclosure of the illicit drug business carried out by SYA after the police arrested MR on Ahmad Yani Street, precisely in front of Alfa Mart, Sungai Cuka Village, Kintap District, Tanah Laut Regency.

The evidence of a package of crystal meth weighing 2.02 grams was found by the officer, MR admitted he received it from SYA to be delivered to the buyer.

Then the police moved quickly to arrest SYA on Kasih Street, Dangsanak Settlement, Kintap District, Tanah Laut Regency. When searched, two sharp weapons were found in the suspect's waist bag.

Subsequently, the officers arrested the HS suspect again with evidence of a package of crystal methamphetamine weighing 0.10 grams and a glass pipette with the remaining crystal meth. According to HS, the illegal goods belonged to SYA which was entrusted to him.

The suspects are now detained and charged under Article 114 paragraph (1) Sub Article 112 paragraph (1) Jo. Article 132 paragraph (1) Jo. Article 127 paragraph (1) letter a Republic of Indonesia Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics and Emergency Law No.2 of 1951 on possession of sharp weapons without permission by SYA.

Previously, SYA was arrested by the South Kalimantan Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) in December 2020. He escaped from prison after undergoing rehabilitation.

At that time he was secured with three of his colleagues in a house in the area of Karang Anyar 2 Street, North Loktabat, Banjarbaru Utara District, Banjarbaru City was having a drug party. Evidence of the remaining used methamphetamine and its suction device includes urine test results that are positive for drugs.
