Garut Police Investigate Alleged Rice Dose Of Government Assistance Insulation

Garut Resort Police conducted an investigation to find out whether or not there was a criminal element related to the alleged finding of a less rice dose of government assistance for the community in Garut Regency, West Java.

"We are conducting an investigation," said Head of the Garut Police Criminal Investigation Unit AKP Joko Prihatin as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 30.

The police have received information that there is an alleged reduction in the amount of government aid rice for the poor, which is then immediately investigated.

The investigation process, he said, was confirmed that someone would be examined in connection with the distribution and the parties who received benefits from the rice aid program.

"There must be someone being examined, what is clear is from the village for sure," he said.

Regarding the results of the temporary investigation, there are elements of alleged criminal violations or not, he said, his party has not been able to convey it to the public because it is still under investigation.

"Not yet, it's still an investigation," he said.

Previously, the Head of Panyindangan Village, Cisompet District, Indra Firman gave a statement to reporters in Garut regarding the lack of a dose of aid from the supposed 10 kilograms, but what the community received decreased by 1 to 2.5 kilograms.

Indra conveyed that he had reported the findings to the Cisompet District Apdesi, as well as to the District Social Welfare Workers (TKSK) as a companion in distributing rice.

With this information, Perum Bulog Ciamis Branch has conducted a search and confirmed to a team in the field that the results of the inspection in the village area of Cisompet District did not find a heavy dose of rice insufficient.

The issue also received attention from the Garut Regency Government which immediately held a meeting to discuss the distribution of rice from the government's food assistance program.

Meanwhile, Garut Regency recorded free rice for the food assistance program from the central government for 227,969 beneficiary families who each received 20 kilograms of allocation in June and July 2025.
