In West Sumatra, Vice President Gibran Asks Local Governments To Support Central Program

PADANG - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka asked local governments to support and succeed in various programs launched by the central government.

This was conveyed by Gibran while monitoring and overseeing the distribution of the 2025 Wage Subsidy Assistance (BSU) funds in Padang, West Sumatra, on Wednesday, July 30.

"We ask for support from local governments and regional heads to make the program launched by the center successful," said Gibran as quoted by ANTARA.

The directive was delivered directly by Gibran in front of the Governor of West Sumatra Mahyeldi, as well as the Mayor of Padang Fadly Amran who was present at the location.

The Vice President explained several programs belonging to the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto, namely the People's School, the Red and White Village Cooperative, free lunch, and free health checks.

Meanwhile, West Sumatra Governor Mahyeldi expressed his gratitude for the visit of the Vice President, and hoped that Gibran could find a solution to the labor problem in West Sumatra.

"The unemployment rate in West Sumatra is still above the national figure, hopefully the Vice President can find a solution to reduce the unemployment rate," he said.

On the other hand, during his visit to West Sumatra, Gibran had a number of agendas and visited several locations in his series of visits.

The first is a working visit to see the teaching and learning process at the First Junior High School 4 Padang centered at the Ministry of Social Affairs, Padang.

The second is the review and monitoring of the distribution of the 2025 Wage Subsidy Assistance (BSU) funds at the PT Pos Indonesia Padang Office.

During his visit, Gibran was accompanied by the Minister of Manpower of the Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Yassierli, the West Sumatra Police Chief, and other provincial officials.
