SMAN 4 Serang Sports Teacher Becomes Suspect Of Harassment, Police Ask Other Victims Not To Be Silent

SERANG Serang City Police (Polres) appealed to students who may be victims of sexual harassment by a sports teacher at SMAN 4 Serang City not to be afraid to report. This appeal was conveyed following the appointment of a teacher with the initials HD as a suspect.

"That's why we convey it through the media so that other victims see and then report. The victim should not be afraid to report," said Serang City Police Chief Kombes Yudha Satria in Serang, Antara, Wednesday, July 30.

HD was named a suspect after the police received a report from a student with the initials SL on July 11, 2025. Harassment is suspected to have occurred since 2023.

According to the victim's statement, the first incident occurred in June 2023. At that time, the perpetrator argued to destroy the silat movement, but touched the sensitive part of the victim. A similar action occurred again in August 2023 with the mode of hypnosis.

"The perpetrator kissed the victim's lips and felt the sensitive part. All the events took place in the school environment, to be precise in the sports room," said Yudha.

The police charged HD with multiple articles, namely Article 82 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 17 of 2016 concerning Child Protection and Article 6 letter b of the Law on the Crime of Sexual Violence (TPKS).

"The suspect is threatened with a minimum prison sentence of five years and a maximum of 15 years, as well as a fine of up to IDR 5 billion," said Yudha.

Until now, only one victim has officially reported. However, the police opened room for other victims to report. The police are also currently investigating information about peaceful settlement efforts that are suspected to have been carried out outside the school line.
