53 Indonesian Citizens In The Far East Federal Are Not Affected By The 8.8 Magnitude Earthquake In Kamchatka
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs coordinated with all representatives of the Republic of Indonesia in a number of countries, following an 8.8 magnitude earthquake rocked Russia, while Indonesian citizens (WNI) so far have not been affected by the natural disaster.
In a statement, the ministry said it was coordinating intensively with the Indonesian Embassy in Moscow, the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo, the Indonesian Consulate General in Osaka and the Indonesian Consulate General in Los Angeles, following the large earthquake that occurred on Wednesday morning local time.
The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs closely monitors the impact of the earthquake and the truncation that occurred in Kamchatka Peninsula (Russia's Far East Federal). The earthquake is known to have an impact on various countries in the Pacific region.
The Director of Protection for Indonesian Citizens at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Judha Nugraha, said that Indonesian Representatives are coordinating with local authorities and communicating with Indonesian citizens in the affected areas to find out the impact of the earthquake on the safety of Indonesian citizens.
"The Indonesian Embassy in Moscow noted that 53 Indonesian citizens settled in the Far East East Federal," said Judha in a statement from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wednesday, July 30.
"Based on the communication between the Indonesian Embassy in Moscow and Indonesian citizens, so far no Indonesian citizens have been affected by the earthquake," he added.

Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia have also conveyed an appeal for Indonesian citizens to increase awareness of aftershocks and the impact of the tsunami.
