Trump Willing To Visit China At Xi Jinping's Invitation
JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump said he was not eyeing a summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping, but possibly visiting China at Xi's invitation.
"I might go to China, but it was only at President Xi's invitation, which had been extended. Otherwise, I wouldn't be interested!" Trump said at Truth Social.
Trump and Xi's aides have discussed a possible meeting between the two leaders during the US president's trip to Asia later this year, a previous source told Reuters.
This visit will be the first face-to-face meeting between the two leaders since Trump's second term, when trade and security tensions between the two superpowers are still high.
