Sal Priadi Believes There Is Good Intention Of Jazz Music Festival Promoter When Presenting Pop Singers

JAKARTA - Sal Priadi has never declared himself a jazz singer or musician. However, he often appears at various music festivals that are labeled as jazz music.

Most recently, Sal appeared to close the BRI Jazz Gunung Series 2 Bromo which was held at the Amphitheater Jiwa Java Resort Bromo, Probolinggo, last weekend.

Responding to the polemic that has been discussed recently regarding jazz music festivals that prefer pop singers and do not appreciate jazz musicians, SAL admits that he always thinks of displaying something that contains elements of jazz.

Apart from all the debate about yesterday, of course I'm a musician who is not a jazz musician, of course every time I play in a jazz event, it's like "Wow, what are you doing, should we make more jazz?" said Sal, met before his performance at BRI Jazz Gunung Series 2 Bromo.

Sal himself believes that his presence as a pop singer has been taken into account by the promoter who invited him. He believes that listeners can be a part of supporting other jazz musicians who attend as performers.

"But I believe, I was chosen to appear, there must be a certain reason, maybe I can attract listeners to get to know jazz," said the 33-year-old singer.

"That's probably one of them. So, I'm always happy to be involved," he added.

In his appearance, Sal and his two background singers, Natania Karin and Syanine Prameswari, performed like the musical stage. The material from Tur Zuzuzaza which was held last year was brought back, this time in the midst of Bromo's cold nature which reached 11 degrees Celsius.

'From another planet', 'Yes,' Zuzuza', 'We'll try that house', 'Tomorrow we go to eat', and 'Small intimacy' is brought alternately. The audience seemed to enjoy the musical style of Sal with Natania and Syanine on stage.

The show became a reflective space when the 'Sunflower gala' was played. Sal asked the audience to remember those who had passed away to the Creator. At the end of the song, he also invited everyone to pray together.

Sal closed his appearance by bringing 'I'd like to watch you sleeping' and 'In silence'. The audience's lively applause accompanied Sal and the accompanying band that got off the stage.
