Fajar/Fikri Don't Want To Waste The Journey To The 2025 China Open Final, Want To Destroy Malaysian Doubles

JAKARTA - Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri are the only Indonesian representatives to qualify for the 2025 China Open final.

They beat fifth seed from China, Liang Wei Berkek/Wang Chang two straight games, 21-19 and 21-17 on Saturday, July 26, 2025, afternoon WIB.

"Today we are playing a fast game and holding the front game. We also appear unloaded, playing enjoy because we are not a real couple."

"It's not easy for us. Apart from fighting Liang/Wang, we also have to fight a stadium with great enthusiasm to support the home players. We try to relax and try to focus more."

"Here, I admit Fikri's role is very big. So, I only reminded a lot of point by point. Fikri with a very extraordinary, forward and rear cover," Fajar said after the match.

Next, Fajar/Fikri will meet the second-seeded Malaysian doubles, Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Come on.

The Indonesian doubles did not want to waste a tough journey to the top party. They want to go all out to win the title.

"In the final we will meet Aaron/Soh, they have extraordinary achievements this year. It's not easy but we will go all out," said Fajar.

Fikri made the same motivation. Even though there is only once a tournament playing as a couple with Fajar, he believes he can present a title for Indonesia.

"It means a lot to me that I can enter the Super 1000 final. It's been a long time since Fajar and I have not been on the podium, especially in Super 1000."

"Hopefully we can finish with the highest podium. I feel like a Fajar pair can make me calmer, more mature on the pitch."

"As a senior since he was at the club, he can really guide me," said Fikri.

The final match of the China Open 2025 will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2025.
