Monita Tahalea Shows The List Of Merona Albums In The Cold Of The Night On Bromo

JAKARTA - Monita Tahalea opened the BRI Jazz Gunung Series 2 Bromo through a special show held at the Amphitheater Jiwa Java Resort Bromo, Probolinggo on Friday, July 25 evening.

In his appearance, Monita performed a setlist from the fourth album released at the end of last June, Merona. No half-hearted 13 songs were performed, of which 9 came from a new album.

Setlist opened with the Solenna, the fourth track of the new album. Temporarily switched to Labuan Hati, single in 2022, Monita returned to the Merona album, bringing Kawan and Instantly.

The songs performed were quite foreign. However, Monita managed to build a very intimate show atmosphere. Every time he performed a new song, he gave a little explanation, which sometimes drew laughter from hundreds of spectators present.

"I'm very grateful that today everyone came with enthusiasm, appreciation too. So, hopefully, what we said earlier can be received well. And I hope everyone who has come all the way can enjoy our performance earlier," said Monita, met by Ivan Two Putra from VOI after his appearance.

The 37-year-old singer also presented Sri Hanuraga (piano), who is a collaborator on the latest album. Both performed two numbers, Merona and Life.

At the end of his performance, Monita performed her two best songs from the previous album, 'Restarting' and 'Laila'. But the arrangement was made different' full of electronic sound elements.

"Indeed, the arrangement was deliberately made by the album 'Merona', because on this album I explored a lot of electronic sounds," he said.

Monita Tahalea became the first performer to come with a special show concept during the Mount Jazz. For him, it is an honor to be able to perform new songs at a show venue that is intended to showcase music collaboration with natural beauty.

"The experience of playing here is always fun, it keeps me grounded. When the music immediately blends with nature, the frequency seems to just meet you right away," said Monita.

"So, it's like being able to bring my songs that are inspired by most of what God has created," he added.

Meanwhile, BRI Jazz Gunung Series 2 Bromo is still continuing on Saturday, July 26. The lines ups to be displayed are Lorjhu, Natasya Elvira,appropriation (France), Sal Priadi, Tohpati Ethnomission, and Bintang Indrianto Trio.
