JAKARTA - The ASEAN Women's MSIG Serenity CupTM 2025 Trophy which became a new symbol of the most prestigious women's soccer tournament in Southeast Asia, first stopped in Jakarta last weekend (20/7).
His presence in Indonesia opened the series of Trophy Tours in ASEAN, bringing the spirit of sportsmanship, inspiration, and new hope for the progress of women's football which continues to grow in the ASEAN region.
MSIG is proud to be the first major partner in the history of this tournament, a historic milestone that marks MSIG's commitment to empowering women and advancing this sport in the ASEAN region. As part of MSIG's global network, MSIG Indonesia and MSIG Life have the same goals: supporting female footballers to protect and achieve their life goals, both on and off the field.
This year, the MSIG Serenity CupTM will be held in Vietnam on August 6-19 2025 and will be attended by eight national teams: Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Myanmar, Cambodia, Timor Leste, and Australia.
Since it was first held in 2004, this tournament has become a prestigious event featuring quality and competitive football matches and featuring young women from all over ASEAN.
Now, with the support of MSIG, this event opens up more opportunities for women in the world of sports, strengthens early-level developments, and celebrates the transformation of football.
The MSIG Serenity CupTM trophy was specially made by world-class trophy craftsman Thomas Lyte. This trophy features 10 towering arches that symbolize ASEAN member countries.
Each peak represents the unique journey, strength, and contribution of each country in the development of women's football. Overall, these ten peaks symbolize togetherness and aspirations to achieve success.

One of the main elements of this trophy design is the shape that resembles a fan that is in bloom, blending with the harmony with the 10 peaks. This elegant and open shape depicts the beauty, flexibility, and opens up the great potential of women's football that continues to grow. Its curvature that leads outward implies the spirit of openness, inclusivity, and revival of women's football.
Bernard Wanandi, Vice President Director of MSIG Indonesia said, "It is a great honor for us to be the main sponsor of the ASEAN Women's MSIG Serenity CupTM 2025. This tournament is an important event that means to support the advancement of women's football in Indonesia and the extraordinary Southeast Asia region.
This support is not only a form of our commitment to empowering women, but also part of our responsibility to encourage more inclusive growth in sports.
Tomoyuki Monden, Vice President Director of MSIG Life, added, "Our support for the MSIG Serenity CupTM is in line with MSIG Life's goal of helping each individual live a more meaningful life. As we provide financial protection, we also want more and more women to have the confidence to pursue their best potential. We believe that when women are given the opportunity, they are able to form a bright future for themselves, their families and communities."
In a separate statement, the Indonesian Women's National Team Manager, Galih Kartasasmita, said the team was in a ready condition and increasingly confident in facing this year's tournament.
"Support from MSIG opens up more opportunities to compete and exposure for the players. This is an important step in developing women's soccer professionals as an industry. With the team of experienced coaches and the squad getting more mature, our target is to penetrate the semifinals, even further," he said.
As part of the Trophy Tour series, MSIG together with AirAsia and the Indonesian Women's Football Association (ASBWI) held the MSIG U-12 Girls Football Festival. This festival is an initiative to foster the talent of young female footballers from an early age and strengthen the foundations of women's football in Indonesia.
ASBWI is under the auspices of PSSI (All Indonesian Football Association), the parent national football organization which is also an official member of FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Together, they played an important role in developing young talents and expanding access to football for girls throughout the country, including through activities like this festival.
This event was designed to inspire young female soccer players as well as involve a wider community. As many as 120 girls aged 6 to 11 years from various local football academies took part in this activity."
Adding to the lively event, two Indonesian Women's National Team players, Mayzura Alifa Yusuf and Citra Ramadhani, were also present to share their travel stories. Mayzura, a young striker who has defended Indonesia in various AFC, AFF, and FIFA tournaments for the U-17, U-19, and U-20 groups, shared the importance of discipline and experience from an early age in developing himself from a football academy to become part of the national squad.
Meanwhile, Citra, a senior midfielder who has appeared in the FIFA match against Singapore and Bahrain, remembers his proudest moment, scoring a closing goal in Bahrain's 3'0 win at home. The goal was the result of years of hard work, starting from local competitions in Samarinda until finally entering the national team.
Their story has become a source of inspiration for young footballers, who prove that with dedication, discipline and resilience, dreams of any height can be achieved.
Through this initiative, MSIG wants to create experiences that build confidence, cooperation, and perseverance, important values that not only apply in the field, but also useful for shaping a more equal and empowered future generation.
The Trophy tour will continue to other Southeast Asian countries, such as Thailand and Singapore, before the official tournament begins in Vietnam in August.
